Topo programs
I have Delormes Hunt n Map program and have used it for scouting with the GPS with great success. I've also looked into the Topo USA program and it looks much more detailed with elevation in 20ft intervals so you get a lot more detail....Someday maybe! My old computer would overload when I downloaded the software.

Here is a picture of Calvin with his first deer. He got him on the right side of the field about 25 yards into the woods. It was a very win...

I'm really looking foward to giving it a try.
The eTrax doesn't download the map just waypoints. I figure the LCD screen wouldn't give much info anyways and I can always print a map if I wanted and take it along.
The idea of documenting a trip later at home just sounds fun.
Jack and I have a few ponds that we would like to hike into so this would make that easier as well.
The program I downloaded to interface with the GPS gets it's maps from Microsoft's Terraserver website, which by the way anyone can get free maps from.
